really is a ship called Turbinia. Built by Charles Parson in 1894 it was the world's
first turbine-driven vassal. It is now housed at The Discovery Museum, Newcastle.

The
fictional Innovation Museum in the book is based upon Tyne & Wear Museums
Discovery Museum in Newcastle, where the author worked for 3years and wrote most
of the early draft during her lunch breaks in the 2nd floor cafe overlooking the
ship Turbinia. The Discovery Museum is dedicated to the north east maritime history
and inventions of the North East. http://www.twmuseums.org.uk/discovery/
The
Millennium Bridge, weights 800 tons, stretches 126 metres across the River Tyne
and the very top arch stand 50 meters above the river when static. Each rotation
takes 4 and half minutes and when it tilts it does so as one unit. Not a place
for vertigo suffers!

| The
logo of Big Paw Books is a print of one of Sheelagh's flat-coated retriever, Noah's
paws. One afternoon Sheelagh painted one of his paws and pressed onto paper. She
then scanned the print and edited in MS Paint adding the text. Later it was resaved
as a high resolution graphic
